Position Summary:  

The Division of Nephrology is seeking a Research
Analysts to provide analytical support for both clinical and non-clinical
research staff and faculty. Typical duties include but are not limited to the
analysis and reporting of research data. Research Analysts may serve as
liaisons between technology services, enterprise analytics, and other research
departments in support of strategic and operational goals. They may work
independently or as a member of a team. They work under general supervision,
resolving most standard issues independently and referring complex issues to an
upper-level manager. Research Analysts typically report to a manager or
director or may report to a department administrator.

Key Responsibilities:

-Formulates research questions to address and solve complex institutional challenges
-Integrates concepts and data from sources to create analyses that serve research and strategic efforts
-Builds statistical models for predicting and forecasting outcomes
-Identifying data sources; data querying, cleaning and gathering; processing and validation; statistical analysis and interpretation; and visualization
-Uses database query tools and statistical, analytical and visualization software to extract, manipulate, analyze, interpret and visualize data trends and patterns and uncover insights
-Synthesizes and communicates insights from research and data for decision makers through data visualizations, reports and presentations
-Participates in data governance efforts, interacting cross functionally with a wide variety of people and teams
-Trains others in research design, statistical analysis and visualization techniques

Typical Expertise:

-Demonstrated proficiency in industry standard programing languages and analytics packages as well as visualization software such as Tableau
-Ability to produce high quality, accurate results in a dead line driven environment
-Ability to prepare reports for a variety of stakeholders in a cohesive and intuitive manner
-Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to explain technical and statistical information in understandable terms
-Understanding of research methods and data analytics needed in higher education
-Foster a collaborative inclusive and team-oriented workplace where diversity and individual differences are valued.

Minimum Hiring Standard:
Master’s degree in Statistics, Business
Analytics, Operational Research, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics,
Physics or Engineering, or closely related to quantitative/computational
sciences field. 5+ years of experience in data science, statistical methods,
predictive modeling, and forecasting. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, excellent
written and verbal communication skills.
