Description
DUTIES: Under the general supervision of the Education Manager – Proctor, the Education Intern Proctor is responsible for:
- Supervise and assist youth with homework, computers, or other after-school or program activities.
- Ensure the proper use of supplies and equipment during activities.
- Communicate effectively in verbal and written situations.
- Follow all Peoria Park District rules, policies, and procedures.
- As part of the internship program, all interns will assist in several Peoria Park District signature events, as assigned.
- Participate in professional development sessions and team building activities as assigned.
- Following all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed; supporting all aspects of the Park District’s safety program.
- Performs all other duties as required.
- This is a grant-funded position available to both high school-aged individuals up to 15 hours per week and undergraduate-aged individuals up to 20 hours per week.
Qualifications
Education: Status as a current High School or College Undergrad student
Knowledge and Ability:
- Ability and willingness to perform assigned job duties.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends, evenings and holidays, as assigned.
- Ability to learn and implement group management skills and activities to a diverse population.
- Ability to physically participate in activities with youth.
- Ability to follow internship dress code of business casual attire.
