GENERAL FUNCTION
Leads the strategic development of programming and events among optometry and opticianry industry, associations and schools to build the external reputation and recognition of EssilorLuxottica retail brands as the premiere affiliation of choice for optometrists and opticians.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Owns the strategic planning and execution of all programming, events and initiatives designed to elevate retail brands among optometry and opticianry industry, associations and schools
- Key point of contact with counterparts on EssilorLuxottica wholesale teams to ensure a coordinated and elevated presence
- Partners with EyeCare leadership and retail brands to ensure plans deliver on business and brand objectives.
- Partners with EyeCare talent acquisition and marketing to communicate programs and content deployment across channels (digital, print, video, events) to connect and engage the external eye doctor and optician community. Coauthor and support communication strategies and plans to inspire and engage a prospective OD and Optician audience
- Primary point of contact and representative for all optometry and opticianry industry, association and school partners and leaders. Proactively builds positive, mutually beneficial relationships
- Leads meetings and negotiates sponsorships with industry, association and school leaders to determine opportunities and positioning to build Doctor and Licensed Optician employer brand
- Manages and oversees team delivery of elevated and differentiated execution of event programming and logistics
- Develops measurement plans and presents results to brand partners and Sr. leadership. Uncovers key learning and insights to continually improve
- Spearheads new and unique formats, channels and tactics to elevate retail brands as the premiere employer of choice
- Leads direct report(s)
- Creates presentation, script and speechwriting material as needed or works with internal partners or agencies to develop
- 30% travel or more as determined by leader
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related field
- 10+ years communications, public relations or event leadership in an agency or corporate environment
- Progressive experience leading and executing strategic event programming and/or external relations
- Demonstrated exceptional writing, verbal, listening and presentation skills and ability to capture and convey a brand identity to diverse audiences, across a range of communication platforms
- Proven ability to plan, develop and deliver content and events via integrated channels and programs, including online/intranet, multimedia, graphic design, video, events, etc.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills including proficiency of media and monitoring databases and platforms
- Ability to assess priorities and manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative, positive-minded individual; team-oriented approach with ability to effectively manage up, down and across peers
- Ability to coach and lead others through proper execution of communication initiatives and deadlines
- Ability to travel at least 30% as determined by leader
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree
- Prior leadership or management experience of direct report(s)
- Experience in eye care industry or healthcare
