- Must be actively enrolled in a college or university
- Must be a Junior or Senior with a cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher
- Must be seeking and undergraduate degree in a business discipline
- Class experience in prospective field is desirable but not required
- Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Interns must be able to work in our Home Office in Birmingham, Alabama from Monday, June 2, 2025 and will end on Thursday, July 31st, 2025.

POSITION PURPOSE
The Risk Insurance Intern works directly with the Risk Management group for one of Birmingham’s few publicly traded companies. The intern is responsible for assisting in the placement, maintenance, and renewal of corporate insurance policies. Additionally, the intern will assist in managing insurance schedules, vehicle and driver safety, and broker/vendor relationships. The intern will gain an understanding of how the various elements of risk management work together to protect our patients, employees, and assets.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Gathers exposure data from various sources for renewal submissions;
- Responds to requests for certificates of insurance;
- Assists in evaluation and tracking of drivers and compliance with the Vehicle Safety Policy;
- Participates in meetings with brokers and other external partners;
- Engages with other areas of Risk Management and other departments as needed to support hospital staff’s risk related needs and concerns;
- Protects sensitive information;
- Assists with special projects as needed; and
- Participates in all intern specific activities.
