Minimum Education
Bachelor’s Degree; Hospital Administration, Public Administration or other related field preferred
Minimum Work Experience
At least 13 to 18 years of progressive related experience. Minimum 10 years of supervisory/management experience in related job function.

Functional Leadership and Partnership Development
Develop, implement and oversee initiatives and leadership priorities for Marketing & Communications (specifically Provider Relations), Global Services and Foundation, in collaboration with senior operational leaders in those areas.
• Create and build new provider/physician model with key stakeholders including CHMO and Pediatric Health Network leadership.
• Co-develop and execute Global Services business development model to create new revenue opportunities, partnerships and relationships, in collaboration with Global Services leadership.
• Ensure initiatives from functional areas are aligned with the overall strategic plan of the organization.
• Promote key CN leaders, including the President and CEO and the CNHF President, to new audiences in DC and across the nation.
• Increase business, political and community network for Children’s National, including board recruitment and external sponsorships to drive growth and representation of new networks.
• Develop and execute new board governance model across Foundation boards with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Act as Human Resources liaison and Office Management lead for functional areas, including prioritization of employee morale, retention, collaboration, and employee and leadership development.
Human Capital and Organizational Relationships
• Define, set and utilize appropriate performance and quality measures.
• Establish, build and sustain professional contacts with key stakeholders internally and externally.
• Work closely with internal departments to align partnership strategies with organizational objectives.
• Role model ethics and professional practices, as well as stimulate social accountability and community stewardship.
Budget and Financial Management
• Continually seek to improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
• Continually monitor budgets, fiscal performance and resource allocation to minimize variance; take appropriate action to correct negative financial trends.
• Develop and maintain statements of necessary policies and procedures to define standards and ensure proper documentation and communication of necessary controls.

Reporting to the President of the Children’s National Hospital Foundation (CNHF) and serving as an integral member of the senior management team, the Vice President for External Partnership is responsible for cultivating and maintaining partnership and alliances within 3 key areas: Marketing & Communications, Foundation and Global Services.
