Overview
Under the general direction of the Education Director, the Tribal Youth Job Skills Trainee assists with the day-to-day operations of various departments. Trainee rotates through various functional areas, including, but not limited to: Tribal Operations, Hotel Operations, Human Resources, Sustainability, Food & Beverage, Information Technology, and Facilities during the eight-week program.
Responsibilities
- Under the direction of departmental leadership, performs day-to-day entry-level tasks in the following functional areas:
- Tribal Operations
- Hotel Operations
- Human Resources
- Information Technology
- Sustainability
- Food & Beverage
- Facilities
- Upholds a work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, and collaboration while role modeling the company values, behaviors, and culture of One.Team.Chumash.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be between the ages of 14 and 18 and entering or currently enrolled in high school.
- Must be a Santa Ynez Chumash Community Member.
- Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0.
- Basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, email, and internet.
- Native American hiring preference applies.
