ROLE SUMMARY:

Monitors will be responsible for overseeing the camp’s outdoor education programs, ensuring that campers have a safe, challenging, and enjoyable experience while developing their skills and appreciation for the outdoors. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Supervise campers on outdoor activities and ensure they have an experience that challenges and inspires them.

● Manage program logistics, including equipment procurement and maintenance, transportation, and scheduling.
● Manage camper behavior and enforce camp rules and regulations, working closely with the Camp Director and other program heads as needed.
● Respond promptly and appropriately to any emergencies or incidents involving campers or staff.


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in outdoor education, recreation management, environmental studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in outdoor education.
  • Ability to supervise a variety of outdoor education activities and programs, including wilderness trips, adventure activities, and environmental education.
  • Strong knowledge of outdoor education best practices, risk management, and environmental stewardship.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing circumstances as needed.
