About the Job:
The Senior Manager, Accounting will have the primary responsibility of performing in-depth month-end duties for several business units, in accordance with established Company policies and procedures.
In This Role, You Will:
- Management and oversight of direct reporting employees including performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
- Facilitate monthly financial closing in accordance with the timelines and processes established.
- Review monthly account reconciliations.
- Participate in the continual improvement and development of processes, procedures and training documentation.
- Assist Corporate with local non-income tax filings.
- Assist with annual insurance and financial audits.
- Assist with annual budget preparation.
- Evaluate subsidiary journals for obvious errors and omissions and enter corrected data into general ledger.
- Collaborate with Corporate FP&A team on financial preparation and analysis.
- Cross-functionally train within the department to provide back-up to the Controller, and other positions as needed.
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, etc. as needed and required.
- Participate in the recruitment of department staffing or the division with approvals from the executive leadership teams.
- All other duties and projects as assigned

Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business management is required; CPA preferred.
- Minimum of seven years of previous relevant experience in an accounting position is required.
- Blend of public and private accounting is preferred.
- Previous work experience within transportation and logistics strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of Oracle finance platform preferred.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in Microsoft Excel (i.e., filters, pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.).
Location:
- This is an in-office role with a hybrid schedule in Charlotte, NC.
Travel:
- Approximately 10% travel will be required.
