Community High School District 218 is seeking a passionate and dedicated School Social Work Intern to join our team. This opportunity provides hands-on experience in a school setting, working directly with students, families, and school staff to support academic success and social-emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students under supervision.
- Assist in developing and implementing intervention plans to address academic, social, and emotional challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, administrators, and families to support student success.
- Conduct needs assessments and connect students and families with appropriate community resources.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings, and professional development sessions.
- Maintain detailed and confidential records in compliance with district and state guidelines.
- Support crisis intervention and conflict resolution efforts as needed.
- Engage in outreach efforts to enhance family and community engagement.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Master of Social Work (MSW) program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
- Completion of foundational coursework in social work.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse populations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a school setting.
- Experience with youth or educational settings is preferred but not required.
