GENERAL FUNCTION

The Sr. Manager of Communications will be a key member of the EssilorLuxottica corporate communications team with a focus on managing the day-to-day communications function for FGX. The candidate will have an opportunity to work on a compelling consumer brand while also serving as a soryteller and advocate for FGX within the larger business.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and execute a comprehensive communications plan for FGX that includes internal, trade and executive communications.
  • Consult with FGX leadership to determine communications goals to meet the needs of the business.
  • Draft key messaging, communications, presentations, talk tracks, FAQs for run-the-business needs, organizational announcements, events, newsletter and executive communications.
  • Manage concept, content and design of communications platforms and vehicles being used to engage FGX employees and customers and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Partner with HR stakeholders to help develop an FGX culture that brings the global FGX community together through communicating organizational changes, company benefits and policies.
  • Organize and execute quarterly FGXI Global “town halls” where leadership can share vision and business updates.
  • Serve on the FGX’s sustainability task force and manage relationships with nonprofits that FGX contributes to
  • Oversee communications budget and vendor relationships
  • Subject matter expert on brand tone of voice and application to business and engagement communications.
  • Drive new approaches to deliver efficient, effective communications; finds effective ways to benchmark best practices, challenge processes and recommend new approaches.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree: Journalism, Communications or related field
  • 7+ years relevant experience
  • Motivated individual with strong project management skills, able to prioritize and manage multiple projects related to the business
  • Superior writing and editing skills, ability to write in a variety of styles/voices
  • Expertise in translating business concepts into simple, compelling narratives using different channels and tactics with minimal direction
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • Strong sense of initiative and ability to work under pressure on multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Ability and agility to deliver quality work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Inquisitive, proactive and creative driver who challenges the status quo; focuses on continuous improvement
  • Ability to earn the trust and respect of peers across different areas of the business
  • Minimal travel (<10 percent)
