Job Description
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Wasserman Live Experiential Operations is searching for a creative, organized, and experienced Experiential Operations Sr. Manager to join our team of event professionals in delivering best in class experiences for our clients. The Experiential Operations Sr. Manager main responsibility will be planning, managing, and executing golf related events in the US and Abroad. The Sr. Manager will also partner with colleagues to grow new and existing clients. This role will be the lead point of contact with clients and will delegate roles and responsibilities to the event staff as needed for the project.
Primary responsibilities include the conception, creation, and transportation of a seven stop golf specific tour, as well as managing all budgets associated with the activation. The Experiential Operations Sr. Manager also provides secondary assistance to other Experiential Operations Managers and departments needed during off seasons.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pre-event planning:
- Serve as a liaison between clients, vendors, and other Wasserman Live departments
- Create and implement budgets for each event activation
- Lead team communications on weekly calls
- Create detailed timelines for team members, vendors, and clients
- Conduct venue and vendor research
- Create presentations and proposals for the layout of the event
- Conceptualize and manage artwork design and production
- Partner with appropriate departments to determine technical and logistical/operation needs for event activations based on client objectives
- Prep activation materials and partner with logistics and operations for deployment
- Inventory and asset management
- Attend Site Visits for proposed Venues
On-site event management:
- Main POC for client onsite to ensure goals and objective are met at each event
- Communicate with cross functional teams to ensure successful execution of event activation
- Manage & direct onsite staff and vendors
- Assist with the set up and tear down of event activation
- Oversee operational logistics plan including loading & unloading of event assets (tie download, safe loading procedures)
- Plan and manage team travel to and from event site
- Other duties as assigned
THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU NEED:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
- 3 years of event production or event management required, 5 years’ experience preferred
- General knowledge of golf tournament directing and logistics
- Skilled in active listening – giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking the time to understand the points being made, and asking appropriate questions.
- Skilled in communicating with a wide degree of types of people and departments
- Skilled in critical thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the pros and cons of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Skilled in time management and project management
- Skilled in coordinating and advising others
- Skilled in making cost-conscious decisions based on company’s budget and the vendor/contract budgets
- Skilled in creative thinking – ability to take client concepts and work with creative to produce an event activation in order to serve client needs
- Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others (such as clients, vendors, project managers and internal employees), and maintaining them over time
- Ability to supervise a crew of 10-20 people
- Ability to negotiate contracts with clients and vendors
- Ability to effectively communicate with the operations, logistics, and technical production staff
- Ability to learn new computer software easily
- Ability to work on multiple events at one time and to handle frequent interruptions while maintaining a positive attitude
- Ability to adapt to new people, demands, and environments
- Skilled MS Office Suite
- Ability to travel up to 65% of the time
- Ability to use power tools and operate forklifts (upon training)
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
