WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Oversee Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and present accurate financial statements and reports to management. You will ensure that financial records are in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage General Ledger: Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled in a timely manner. You will ensure that our financial data is organized and up to date.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts. You’ll work closely with the leadership team to track performance against budgets and offer insights into potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Payroll Management: Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws. You’ll also manage payroll-related reporting and handle any payroll discrepancies.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure timely processing and payment of invoices. You’ll help ensure cash flow remains healthy and under control.
  • Tax Compliance & Filing: Manage and prepare tax filings, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws. You’ll work closely with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure we meet all our tax obligations.
  • Internal Controls & Process Improvement: Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and improve financial processes. Your ability to identify areas of improvement will contribute to the company’s overall operational efficiency.
  • Assist in Financial Audits: Support annual external audits and provide requested documentation to auditors. You’ll help ensure that the audit process runs smoothly and any issues are addressed promptly.
  • Financial Analysis and Recommendations: Provide detailed financial analysis to support business decisions. You’ll offer actionable insights and recommendations to help the company grow and achieve its financial goals.

 

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Accounting Experience: You have 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, preferably in the construction or home services industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance: You have a solid educational background in accounting, finance, or a related field. A CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel Skills: You are proficient with Excel and other accounting software. You’re comfortable building complex financial models, reconciling accounts, and generating reports.
  • Attention to Detail: You are highly detail-oriented, with a keen eye for accuracy. You can spot discrepancies and inconsistencies in financial records and address them promptly.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: You have the ability to analyze complex financial data and make informed recommendations. You’re comfortable working with numbers and explaining financial performance to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience with Accounting Software: You have experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar systems to manage day-to-day financial operations.
  • Problem-Solving: You have a proactive approach to identifying and solving financial issues, whether related to accounting processes, tax concerns, or cash flow management.
  • Communication Skills: You’re a strong communicator who can explain complex financial information to team members, management, and external partners in a clear, concise manner.
