About Us: Ignite Achievement Academy is dedicated to providing exceptional educational experiences for students with special needs. We offer two school campuses – one in North Charlotte located at 3835 W W.T.Harris Blvd., and another in South Charlotte located at 6203 Carmel Rd. School hours are M-F, 9AM – 3PM. Our class sizes typically range from 4-6 students so every child receives the individualized support they deserve – and as a teacher, you can make a tremendous impact as you have the time to work with each student frequently!
We are hiring elementary and secondary teachers due to the addition of classrooms due to growth in our school. These positions will begin in January, 2025.
Our teachers rarely need to take work home, and our culture is different than any other school you’ve likely worked with in the past!

Key Responsibilities:
- Instruction: Plan and deliver personalized instruction tailored to the unique needs of each student in the classroom in alignment with his or her personalized Academic Plan.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teacher assistants, speech-language pathologists, and other staff to provide continuous support and services to ensure holistic support for each student.
- Behavioral Support: Implement and monitor behavioral strategies to create a supportive and structured classroom environment that promotes positive behaviors and social interactions.
- Individualized Academic Plans: Develop, along with the Head of School, implement, and regularly update Academic Plans for each student, ensuring alignment with their specific goals and needs.
- Assessment: Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress, adjust instructional methods as needed, and provide detailed reports on student achievements.
- Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to support student progress and well-being.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education, speech support, and behavioral interventions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certification, special education preferred but not required.
- Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a self-contained classroom setting.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students with special needs.
