Position Overview

As an integral part of the Spectrum Center security team, you will serve as the Building Security 2nd Shift Supervisor. In this role, will lead and manage our Building Security Officers during a nine hour shift from 3PM-12AM.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for deploying officers to the different post
  • Will work closely with the security management team
  • Proactively take ownership of the shift you are supervising
  • Collaborate with Management team with training
  • Responsible for operating x-ray machines, walk thru metal detectors, and the Lobby Guard Visitor Management system
  • Enforce policies and procedures throughout the facility on a 24hr 7day a week basis
  • Follow all rules and regulations as outlined policies and procedures and post orders
  • Create, review, and submit detailed Incident Reports in VenueAware.
  • You will aid in direction of orderly evacuation of building
  • Conduct thorough safety walks in and around the facility throughout shift
  • Build security briefing sheets when needed
  • Assists department with special projects as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned by manager
  • Conduct periodic performance assessments to develop Security Officers through a variety of training techniques.
  • Lead 2nd Shift Part-Time Building Security Officers to ensure consistent performance.
  • Proficient use of a handheld tablet to monitor Loading Dock Access List and Employee Entrance Access List.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

To perform the job successfully, you will have or demonstrate the following skills and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or 4-6 years of industry experience in a Supervisor role.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and inspire a team
  • Ability to think critically to solve problems
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
  • Interpersonal skills – works well in a team environment, professional, interacts with all levels of organization and outside contacts
  • Adaptable – adapts to frequent change, works well under pressure in a dynamic work environment
  • Dependable – punctual, responds to manager’s instructions, detail oriented
  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands to handle or feel, and climb stairs
  • Position could place applicant in situations that may require use of physical force to resolve situations
  • Occasional lifting of boxes or equipment such as fire extinguishers
  • Presents self in professional manner and have ability to interact and build relationships with all levels of organization and outside contacts
  • Able to multi-task under time constraints, meet deadlines and work within a fast-paced industry/environment
  • Excellent communications skills – both written and verbal, ability to read and interpret documents such as incident reports and safety rules
  • A self-starter who is resourceful
  • Flexibility to work extended and/or irregular hours including evenings, weekends and holidays for games and events, as needed
