The School Psychologist Intern is directly involved in assuring student evaluations include comprehensive student data in alignment with IDEA/PDE eligibility criteria and compliance regulations. With grade-band assignment within Insight PA Cyber Charter School, School Psychologists collaborate with school, home, and community-based stakeholders to build resources, resolve learning needs, and work toward sustainable systems serving the whole student in their educational experience.
Essential Functions

- Provides data-informed recommendations as a result of initial student evaluations or re-evaluations
- Reviews, interprets, and designs evaluation reports as testing/educational data is provided by contracted evaluators
- Develops individualized consent forms and other essential documentation for parents and legal guardians to be fully informed of proposed actions related to student eligibility
- Collaborates with personnel through a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) process to promote research-based interventions during the pre-referral phase
- Assists in the development and implementation of web-based school-wide positive behavior interventions & supports (SWPBIS)
- Utilizes clear communication when discussing evaluation findings with student support and/or IEP teams
- Partners with Special Education Compliance & Instructional Supervisors regarding student onboarding escalations and/or family consultations as needed
- Serves as consultant for special education teachers, parents/guardians, administrators, & local agencies
- Collaborates with the School Psychologist team, and various other educational professionals on department and systems-level initiatives
- Collaborates in pre-referral, referral, and post-referral procedures with educational professionals
- Identifies & delivers professional development training sessions based upon ongoing or emerging school-based needs
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no regular supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in School Psychology or Educational Psychology, AND
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, and/or other related fields
- All state & federal clearances required by PDE for school-based personnel
Minimum Required Skill Set
- Comprehensive & up-to-date knowledge of various types of assessments
- Knowledge of MTSS practices and procedures
- Wide range of strategies & interventions to offer to instructional staff
- Highly developed team-based coordination & problem-solving skills Specific expertise in IDEA eligibility factors, PDE compliance regulations, and procedural safeguards
- Specialized knowledge & training/field experience aligned with the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) practice model
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to travel for occasional required all-staff events (professional development, state testing, etc.)
- Outstanding professionalism in interpersonal communication skills
- Comfort and desire to learn from an interdisciplinary team to build skills and knowledge base consistent with the NASP practice model

- This is an office-based position. The noise level in the office is usually moderate (computers, printers, light foot traffic).
- This position will include limited travel and will include limited overnight travel. This is estimated to be less than 20% of the time. Travel will be required for student testing and meeting any other requirements of the internship program.
