Job Title:  SAP Basis Architect 

Department:  Information Technology

ROLE SUMMARY:    

The SAP Basis Architect is responsible for ensuring reliability, performance and availability of the SAP application platforms to support business strategy, vision and goals. The role includes hands-on delivery of SAP technical work, project and team leadership and mentoring other teammates. The successful candidate is responsible for leading, managing and coordinating BASIS Administration practices across Trulieve S/4 and SAP BTP landscape. The right candidate will be capable of managing and maintaining multiple SAP Cloud based systems.  

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Implement and maintain the multiple SAP instances that comprise the SAP environment (development, quality and production). 

  • Maintain the integrity of the SAP environment by managing the SAP Correction and Transport System (CTS) to ensure all configuration and development objects are promoted properly. 

  • Introduce technical changes into the environment using a structured approach that minimizes risk and achieves high reliability, availability and performance of each SAP instance. 

  • Design and implement an optimal SAP configuration to maximize system performance and availability. 

  • Administer and configure multiple SAP BTP services, such as Integration Suite, Advance Event Mesh, Hana Cloud DB, etc. 

  • Provide technical support for BTP/Clean Core implementation projects. 

  • Manage SAP Security (users, roles, authorizations, and profiles). 

  • Able to map OSS to SAP Incidents & Service Request Templates 

  • Distribute the online SAP user workload and monitor and manage the SAP background job workload. 

  • Configure and manage the SAP printing subsystem for all SAP instances. 

  • Monitor all SAP Cloud systems (work processes, users, system logs, short dumps, locks, developer traces, system traces, disk space, etc.). 

  • Administer the SAP database with Database Administrator (plan and perform database upgrades, apply database maintenance, design and maintain physical database layout, perform database reorganizations, design and implement backup and restore strategy, maintain database security, administer database performance, manage database storage, database problem determination and resolution, etc.). 

  • Perform SAP client administration (create client, copy client, delete client, export/import client) as required. 

  • Participate in the planning and implementation of SAP system upgrades. 

  • Develop and maintain system documentation for all SAP instances and interfaces. 

  • Provide status reports for projects to management. 

  • Requires work outside of standard work hours to collaborate with offshore teams, or to help resolve high priority incidents 

  • Promotes teamwork and cooperation in an organization with a diverse workforce. 

  • Facilitates and coaches’ cross teams in the application of problem-solving techniques and promote its use and development.  

  • Takes ownership of his/her work and need no prompting to drive productivity, change, and outcomes.  

  • Builds and leverages cross-functional relationships to bring together ideas, data, and insights to drive continuous improvement in functions.  

  • Manage projects and ensures task deadlines are met 

  • Demonstrated SAP S4HANA and SAP RISE experience required 

  • Manage Relationship with AMS Service Providers as well as SAP RISE team.  

  

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university with a minimum of 10 years of related post-graduate work experience.

  • Expertise in SAP technologies: SAP Basis, S/4, DB HANA, SAP BTP, SOLMAN, SAP ABAP, SAP Fiori, SAP Web Dispatcher, SSO 3.0 Solutions, SAP Data Services, 

  • Cloud Experience in SAP Cloud Platform (SCP) and (AWS). 

  • Good knowledge of ADS, Set up SolMan CHARM, Fiori and Gateway services, BAS, Build, and HANA cloud connector & workflow monitoring, etc. 

  • Experience with Solution Manager and transport management processes; experience defining / operating SAP transport paths in a complex technical architecture 

  • Experience with system sizing, storage management, database sizing/management, backups, and disaster recovery for SAP systems 

  • Experience working with service-based API’s (e.g. SOAP, Rest, etc) required 

  • Expertise with SAP Tuning, Troubleshooting, debugging related to system performance is required 

  • Experience with technical project management and / or leadership skills including the ability to plan, organize, and control activities 

  • Proven track record for completing projects in specified deadlines 

  • Ability to work both in a team environment and independently, as required 

  • Demonstrated high level of written, verbal and interpersonal skills to communicate technical and non-technical information, ideas, procedures and processes 

  • Able to work in a fast-paced, agile environment, and with all levels of the organization 

  • Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of an organization how current trends and technology can address identified business needs and capabilities 

  • Maintains a positive work environment through teamwork & conflict resolution. 

Salary will be commensurate with experience.   A comprehensive benefits package including paid time off is offered with this position. This position will work an average of 40 hours per week and will be available “after hours” if an emergency situation should arise.
