Position Summary:

The
Division of Nephrology is seeking a Data Analyst to provide analytical support
for both clinical and non-clinical research staff and faculty. Data Analysts perform
routine to moderately complex analysis requiring a general knowledge of
multiple IT functional areas, applicable policies, procedures and legal
compliance. Typical responsibilities include interpreting data, analyzing
results using statistical techniques; developing and implementing data analyses,
data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical
efficiency and quality; acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources
and maintaining databases. The nature of the work requires logical
decision-making and sound problem-solving skills. They work under general supervision,
making routine to complex decisions independently and referring unprecedented
issues to an upper-level manager. Data Analysts typically report to a manager
or director or in some units may report to an administrator. 

Key
Responsibilities:

-Identify trends and growth
opportunities through analysis of complex data sets.
-Interpret data and analyze results
using statistical techniques.
-Create reports and present them to
the department heads.
-Integrate data from various
backend services and databases.
-Provide quality assurance of
imported data, working with quality assurance analysts if necessary.
-Administer tests and implement new
or upgraded software.
-Assist with strategic decisions on
new systems and software.
-Form data management and governance
processes.
-Evaluate internal systems for
efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies.
-Filter and clean data by reviewing
reports and performance indicators to identify and correct code issues.
-Troubleshooting the reporting
database environment and reports.

-Foster a collaborative inclusive and team-oriented workplace
where diversity and individual differences are valued.

Minimum
Hiring Standards:

Bachelor’s Degree
in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.

-Professional
proficiency reporting packages, databases, and programming.
-Experience with
SQL Server.
-Very strong
analytical skills.
-Ability to
identify trends and patterns in complex data sets.
-Strong knowledge
of algorithms and data structures.
-Experience
collaborating with internal and cross functional teams.
-Topnotch analytic
skills, including data mining, evaluation, analysis, and visualization.

Preferred Qualifications:
– Medical degree or medical background strongly preferred.
-This position requires independent ability for data
collection, analysis and interpretation of results. Candidates with experience
in biostatistics would be strongly preferred.
-Candidates who have an interest in advancing their career
in the field of nephrology and kidney transplantation strongly preferred.
