- Delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
- Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes.
- Effectively interact with patients and significant others, while maintaining the standard of professional nursing.
- Provide care for pediatric and adult patients before and after surgical procedures, and with a broad range of medical conditions.
- Gives direction to RN, LPN, CNA, Housekeeping Staff, Dietary Staff.
- Consults and coordinates with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
- Prepares and administers and records prescribed medications.
- Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse.
- Educates patients on surgical procedures, medications and conditions. Records patients’ medical information and vital signs.
- Provides bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients on how to manage their illness/injury, by explaining: post-treatment home care needs.
- Changes dressings, inserts catheters, starts IV’s.
- Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
- Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards and protocol.
- Participates in discharge planning.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing
- Passed NCLEX exam
- Montana RN License
- 1 to 2 years Medical Surgical Nursing Experience
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certification to be completed with 6 months of hire
- Basic Nursing Principles and Procedures. Basic office skills, IV skills
