PURDUE EXTENSION SUMMER INTERN (May-August)
 
 
DEPARTMENT:                                Elkhart County Cooperative Extension
 
HIRING RATE:                                  $12.00 per hour
 
BENEFITS OFFERED:                     No benefits offered
 
POSITION TO BE FILLED:              May 2025
 
HOURS & DAYS OF WORK:           Monday through Friday, 8:00 – 4:30 (37.5 hours/week)
 
LOCATION OF POSITION:              Extension Office – Goshen
 
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:             None
 
JOB SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility is to assist the 4-H Youth Development educators in the administration of the 4-H programs. Responsibilities include assisting Purdue Extension educators in program delivery within Elkhart County.  Required to work with youth and adults in 4-H, Health & Human Services, and Agriculture & Natural Resources activities.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Applicants must first apply for an internship https://www.workandlearnindiana.com and qualify for EARN Indiana
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be a full-time college student qualified for EARN Indiana funding
• Should have some knowledge of 4-H and or the Extension Service
• Must be able to communicate well, be highly organized, detail oriented, able to accept direction from others, and enjoy working with diverse groups of people
• Computer skills with Microsoft Office software desirable
