PT School Nurse Opportunity in 28273 : Mon-Fri 11-3 *PEDS EXP REQUIRED*

We are looking for a Part-time (PT) Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to assist with a private school providing medication to the students.

Pay Range: Hourly Rate: $35.00/hr – $45.00/hr based on experience for this case.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 11a-3p (based on school schedule – would not work on School days off). 20 hours/week (but we have additional opportunities as well that you can talk to the Recruiter regarding).

Description: Assessing students and reviewing student charts (new and existing), administering medication to students requiring medication per MAR and following up with MD/parents accordingly, medication administration education/in-services to teachers as requested.

General Responsibilities for Opportunity: The Nurse is responsible for the identification, management and resolution of health problems of individuals in the school program. In addition, this person will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the delivery of individual health care appropriate to the ages and populations served. The Nurse maintains operational aspects of assigned individual health care areas and works collaboratively with the other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team.

Basic Qualifications

  • Education/Training: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Certifications/Licensure: NC Nursing License required. Must meet Nationwide background check requirement and sex offender search. Must have up to date: CPR, TB Test and prefer but not required COVID/Flu Vaccinations.
  • Skill(s): Strong general nursing skills with emphasis on the care of individuals who are emotionally, behaviorally, neurologically or developmentally disabled. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) years of clinical experience with children. Prefer developmental disabilities experience.
  • Interrelationships: Interacts with all members of the multidisciplinary treatment team as required for the individual. Individual should be personable and able to engage with students and school teachers and professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Provide thoughtful care to clients & patients based on personalized Assessments and Plan of Cares, if appropriate or guidelines established by the school.
  • Monitor and track changes in the client/patient’s conditions and needs, and keeps the Director of Nursing and any other appropriate personnel informed
  • Proactively updates client/patients’ family on plan of care, health changes, and concerns

Requirements

  • Possess exceptional nursing assessment skills
  • Experience with pediatrics, plus children with developmental delays and/or on the autism spectrum
  • Analytic/Critical thinker.
  • Licensed driver with valid automobile insurance
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be able to stand walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the client. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
