JOB SUMMARY:
Manage product promotion and development to ensure the Company’s sales and marketing objectives for plaster and gypsum board products and respective systems are achieved. Manage both new and existing products, and as well as related marketing initiatives, for share and profitability growth. This position requires 40% travel and is hybrid ineligible.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive):
• Serve as the Product Manager for the existing plaster and gypsum board systems product line.
o Serve as primary marketing contact on product-related questions, issues, support and strategies.
o Interface with Demand Management on questions and strategies related to manufacturing plant network, logistics, inventory, product pricing and margins.
o Serve as the primary marketing contact for manufacturing, purchasing, research and logistics related to product management and supply chain issues / opportunities.
o Serve as the sales/marketing representative on the Plaster, Gypsum Board and Paper Quality Improvement Teams.
• Provide leadership and direction for the Company’s Construction Technical Services Department.
o Lead and develop the 800-NATIONAL call center Team.
o Monitor and track service-related calls and proactively address potential problems or opportunities.
o Provide feedback on issues to manufacturing, research and field sales accordingly.
o Provide leadership for the Company’s construction systems testing efforts including the plaster and gypsum board product line’s fire, acoustical, mold, endurance and thermal properties.
• Serve as the primary contact for field sales on questions, issues and opportunities related to the plaster and gypsum board product lines and respective systems.
o Frequently travel with field sales and serve as a resource to sales representatives/managers, customers, contractors and architects.
o Monitor, track and report on competitive products/systems and proactively communicate with field sales on risks and/or opportunities.
o Conceptualize, develop and deliver high-quality, impactful training material for field sales representatives.
o Serve as a National Gypsum representative on industry-related advisory groups (Gypsum Association, AWCI, Remodeler’s Advantage, NARI, EIMA etc.).
• Provide direction for the plaster and gypsum board product line advertising, packaging and promotion programs.
o Conceptualize and evaluate print and digital media ad campaigns.
o Serve as the primary contact for internal and external content development resources.
o Provide input content and direction for product technical and marketing literature.
o Direct trade show graphics and promotions.
o Conceptualize and execute field-related specialty product sales promotions.
o Develop, implement and maintain a continuing marketing strategy to support and promote our PURPLE® trademark and Working Property assets.
• Manage the development of new products, product improvements or product line extensions within the plaster and gypsum board products and respective systems.
o Serve as the primary marketing and product content expert on product development projects related to plaster and gypsum board products and respective systems.
o Provide project management leadership on product development and improvement efforts.
o Prepare sales volume, cost and profit projections on all new product initiatives.
o Participate in and support the National Gypsum’s Stage Gate innovation process.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Relevant Bachelor’s degree required with post-graduate education or willingness to pursue position-specific advanced education.
• A minimum of six years building materials experience in a field sales or marketing/product management capacity with a strong emphasis on field sales experience.
• A good understanding of the field application and performance of plaster and gypsum board products and respective systems is required.
• Capability of leading a highly technical construction services team
• Strong interpersonal relationship skills and ability to work well in and lead team environments.
• The confidence and ability to communicate with all types of contacts: customers, suppliers, NGC Field Sales Managers, manufacturing and research associates — at all levels.
• Ability to formulate and implement successful marketing strategies, led by a keen understanding of customer end-use applications and related product quality requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Candidate should possess strong computer, data analysis and digital literacy skills.
• Solid project management skills.
• Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
