Job Summary
Eastern Washington University is searching for a Manager of Internal Control Systems in the Office of Controller. This position will be responsible for documenting, testing and establishing internal controls as applicable. Identify and test material transaction streams in support of financial statement preparation. Provide leadership and training to professional accounting staff in university business units. Supervision of professional and fiscal accounting staff. This position reports to the Assoc. Controller in the EWU Office of Controller. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely related field Experience designing, applying, documenting and/or evaluating internal control systems Demonstrate and foster a culture of ethical leadership, a commitment to diversity, and encourage a supportive team-oriented work environment

Preferred Qualifications
Three years of progressively responsible experience in college/university accounting or auditing environment Experience preparing and/or auditing governmental financial statements using a thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and authoritative guidance Experience performing tests designed to detect material misstatements such as material balance testing, evaluating control risk, documenting internal controls, performing walkthroughs, etc. Experience supervising professional accountants or auditors Experience with integrated, enterprise level accounting software systems Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

Work Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
