The Role
Reporting to the Principal, Charlotte Bilingual Preschool’s (CltBP) Preschool Teacher ensures that CltBP offers a high-quality, dual language preschool program that supports students’ school readiness in a supportive school culture with parents, teachers, and staff. Position responsibilities include:
Plan lessons weekly and deliver curriculum based on best practices in dual language education and with fidelity to ensure each child meets learning expectations that prepare them for success in school and life
Incorporate cultural, linguistic, and familial values and beliefs into classroom culture and lesson plans
Use data to drive instructional practices and differentiates instruction based on students’ needs, helping families understand the curriculum and ways they can support their child’s education at home
Observe, document, assesses, and report on individual student progress with a variety of pre- approved tools, including Teaching Strategies Gold and the DECA
Conducts home visits and family conferences, and encourages family participation
Establish and maintain ongoing open communication with families, therapists, and the Family Educators regarding child and family needs, and actively participate in Advisory process of referral and student support
Apply best practices and participate in professional development and life-long learning opportunities to remain a reflective practitioner
