Position Overview

The IPTV Engineer will assist with programming, deployment and managing IPTV system along with video distribution across the organization. You should be highly motivated and have excellent personality and customer service skills. The ability to work in a fast paced environment, as well as, establish and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders is critical for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage all IPTV systems including ViaTech and any new video distribution system
  • IPTV lead with managing and overseeing hardware updates, replacement parts, connectivity, etc.
  • Oversee the ingestion, encoding and distribution of video content.
  • Maintain an inventory of all IPTV systems within the arena, accurately document instances of video equipment or failure, repair, installation and removal.
  • Gain base understanding of company applications as they relate to video.
  • Design content requirements, schedules, checklists or systems to streamline workflow and ensure consistent operations.
  • Manage and execute marketing and corporate partnership assets, per contractual obligations.
  • Provide troubleshooting, installation, configuration and testing of all digital display and IPTV systems to include but not limited to LED content playback and processor systems, monitors, digital media players, fiber converters, projection systems, digital signage displays, LED displays, RF cable systems, streaming and encoding technologies, etc.
  • Ensure a high standard of installation, cable management and serviceability for all systems.
  • Ensure all A/V, Broadcast equipment remains event ready, is properly setup and tested prior to use.
  • Perform regular testing and validation of IPTV services.
  • Schedule trafficking for all digital signage elements.
  • Provide after-hours and weekend support as required for arena events, NBA games, third-party sporting events and the retail operations.
  • Other duties as assigned by management 

Required Skills, Experience, and Abilities

To perform essential job functions, you should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • 3-5 years of IPTV experience in corporate setting
  • Intermediate knowledge of IPTV Systems (ViaTech a plus)
  • Basic knowledge of live event video
  • Familiarity with network related troubleshooting, maintenance, and monitoring tools
  • Solid understanding of Adobe Creative Suite elements, including but not limited to After Effects, Photoshop and Premiere
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, addressing, firewalls, routers, VLANs, and VPN and ability to configure networked AV devices, networked audio (AVB, Dante, etc.) and Video over IP (NVX, Evertz, SVSI, NAV, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills including written and verbal; ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple concurrent assignments
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Planning and organizing, can prioritize work activities; uses time efficiently and is self-motivated
  • Dependability – consistently at work on time, follow policy and direction, responds to manager’s instructions
  • Interpersonal skills – listens to others, contributes and works well in a collaborative environment
  • Detail Oriented – Accuracy and careful attention to detail is of utmost importance
  • Ability to operate tools, components, peripheral accessories and research into video system and data system issues.
  • Some heavy lifting is required
  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, weekends, all arena events and home games
  • Ability to travel occasionally
