    DESCRIPTION: The Facilitating Teacher serves as a member of the Tier III Instructional Team by providing in-person supervision and instructional support   to students enrolled in digital coursework across all content areas. The Facilitating Teacher may work with students independently, in     small  groups, or in large groups to support the needs of students.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

    Possess a valid Clear California Single Subject Teaching Credential in either:

     

    • English Language Arts 
    • Mathematics 
    • Science
    • History Social Science
    • Fine Arts
    • Foreign Language
    • Physical Education
    • SPED

     

    English Learner Authorization
    Permanent Status in CVUHSD
    At least three years experience as a classroom teacher

    Tier III FACILITATING TEACHER
    JOB DESCRIPTION

     

    PRIMARY PURPOSE: 

     

    The Facilitating Teacher serves as a member of the Tier III Instructional Team by providing in-person supervision and instructional support to students enrolled in digital coursework across all content areas. The Facilitating Teacher may work with students independently, in small groups, or in large groups to support the needs of students.

    HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    • 420 minutes, exclusive of 35 minutes for a duty-free lunch

    CORE DUTIES:

     As the Facilitating Teacher:

     

    1. Provide in-person instructional support to students on campus.

    2. Provide support for instructional activities which may include projects, labs, demonstrations, performances, etc.

    3. Provide students with basic technical support and assistance with computers, digital textbooks, digital coursework, learning management systems, lab equipment, etc.

    4. Advocate for and utilize engagement strategies that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. 

    5. Regularly communicate and/or meet with students, parents/guardians, administrators, district support staff, and other educational partners, to monitor student progress and provide interventions.

    6. Clearly articulate and frequently remind students and parents of deadlines, schedules, and procedures to ensure that students complete coursework in a timely manner.

    7. Keep and maintain records including, but not limited to, attendance,grading, interventions, parent contact, and referrals to administration or other district support staff.

    8. Maintain, monitor, and case manage weekly individual student progress meetings.

    9. Participate in, guide, and help plan off campus learning experiences and activities in alignment with schoolwide learning objectives, building school culture, and/or course content.

    10. Consult with parents and school personnel as a means of helping students with educational and personal challenges that may be interfering with their learning and success in school. 

    11. Coordinate with Student Support Services team members and service providers to ensure socio-emotional support and learning is accessible and realized by all students, including making referrals to the Wellness Center or other outside agencies.

    12. Participate in various multidisciplinary teams, such as Student Success Team (SST), Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Team, Threat Assessment Team, School Attendance Review Team (SART), Crisis Team, etc. to identify and build support services plans (e.g. counseling, assessment, interventions, etc.)

    13. Promote and maintain a safe learning environment for all students.

    14. Attend professional learning opportunities, as assigned by the Principal.

    15. Administer state-standardized assessments to students.

    16. Other related responsibilities as assigned.
