Job Description

Our Team is currently seeking an Internal Controls Intern. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience and learn from a team with varied strengths. You will learn the foundation of Risk and Controls and gain firsthand experience in auditing, risk management, and internal controls within a dynamic and supportive environment.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with Internal Control Assessments, by supporting the evaluation and documentation of existing internal controls and processes.
  • Aid in the development and updating of process documentation and control matrices. Ensure documentation is accurate and aligned with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in implementation and monitoring of compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations.
  • Prepare and present summaries of findings and recommendations to senior team members. Contribute to the creation of internal control reports and documentation.
  • Work closely with the Internal Controls team to support ongoing projects and initiatives. Participate in team meetings and provide updates on assigned tasks.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Pursuing certifications relating to risk management and/or internal audit.
  • Basic understanding of internal controls, auditing, and risk management concepts.
  • Familiarity with financial statements and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

 

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of management
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency regarding time and meeting target dates
  • Ability to work under pressure given tight deadlines.
  • Must be an adaptive learner, self-directed, proactive, and curious.
  • Ability to be flexible and adjust to changing factors and conditions.
  • Can-do attitude
  • This position is paid, but not eligible for benefits such as medical, relocation, or housing.
