Job Summary:
The Intern, Internal Audit assists in conducting audits, consulting engagements, investigations, and other projects that provide objective and independent evaluations to reduce the university’s risk and improve its operations.
Major Responsibilities / Duties / Critical Tasks:
· Assists in conducting engagement level risk analysis to define a project’s objectives, scope, and methodologies
· Assists with collecting and analyzing appropriate types of information, data, and evidence to achieve the objectives of project steps by:
o Compiling data from the university’s financial and human resources information system and other sources internal and external to the university
o Applying appropriate sampling techniques
o Collecting documents
o Observing assets and processes.
o Using questionnaires and surveys.
o Utilizing other methodologies, as needed.
· Prepares thorough, well-organized, and self-explanatory work papers to support conclusions reached.
· Identifies and assists with the development of issues and practicable recommendations.
· Drafts findings and recommendations resulting from work performed. Assists with the evaluation of client responses to recommendations.
· Prepares for and conducts interviews
· Conducts professional communications to understand processes and gather audit evidence
· Informs in-charge and/or the project manager about status of the audit work performed, potential issues and solutions, and client relations.

· Proven leadership skills demonstrating strong judgement, problem-solving, and DECISION-MAKING abilities.
· Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
· Proven experience working independently and managing multiple assignments in a dynamic environment.
Required Education / Experience:
· High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Progress towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
· Must be enrolled as a full-time or part-time student with a minimum GPA of 3.2 to apply.
