An Off-Campus Work-Study Position – MUST have a Work-Study Award

Southwest Creations Collaborative’s (SCC) Hacia: Toward the University Intern II is responsible for supporting the family engagement, college readiness, and academic support work of SCC’s Hacia program.  
The Hacia Intern collaborates with the entire SCC programs team and reports directly to the Hacia Project Manager. Responsibilities of this position include providing support in the following areas:
● School Readiness virtual workshops (Facilitation role)
● Phone Calls (provide support with outreach and re-engagement efforts)
● Student follow up (resource investigation with a focus on school readiness)
● Materials (maintain, organize, and prep materials)

QUALIFICATIONS
● UNM Work-study position
● Sophomore or Junior student at UNM
● Strong facilitation and community outreach skills with knowledge and/or interest in popular education techniques
● Direct experience working in low income and Mexicano/Hispano/Chicano and/or immigrant communities
● Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (written and spoken)
● Excellent communications skills, with experience in technical writing and public speaking
● Ability to perform program data collection
● Coursework leading to a Bachelor’s degree
● Schedule flexibility and the ability to work on Saturdays and evenings
● The ability to make a multi-year commitment to the organization
● The ability to pass an APS background check
● Ability to lift 25 pounds
● Excellent computer skills in email, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel
