POSITION SUMMARY:
The DEI Intern will assist the DEI Data & Analytics team in designing, building, and rolling out a new company-wide DEI Dashboard. They will also help launch, coordinate, and analyze the IPG annual BELONG (Building Equity, Leveraging Opportunity, and Nurturing Growth) Survey in the spring.
The intern will gain hands-on experience in the People Analytics and Survey space under experienced leadership. They will develop a greater understanding of people analytics, dashboard design best practices, and survey project management.
Additionally, the intern will work with a global team of professionals in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate should have a growth mindset, be passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion, and possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with the launch of an agile cross-agency design team for the build of a company-wide DEI dashboard.
- Assist with the launch of the IPG company-wide BELONG Survey.
- Partner with our survey vendor to document the process for survey management in a new tool.
- Collaborate with the Director, DEI Data & Insights Strategy, to analyze survey results, including cutting results by key demographics, year-over-year comparisons, and using correlation & regression analysis to tie results to key people analytics.
- Provide support with communications as needed.
- Assist with the preparation of presentations, reports, and other materials.
- Actively use project management software to track updates to survey project plans.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently enrolled in a PhD-level graduate degree program in a relevant field such as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Organizational Development, Analytics, Human Resources, IO Psychology, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the job.
- Minimum 2+ years of working experience or internships.
- Strong interest and passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion, and surveys or analytics.
- Experience designing a dashboard in Tableau or Power BI preferred.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work on a variety of projects.
- Knowledge of Project Management and Data Analytics preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Strong knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Python or R coding experience a plus.
- Experience with Agile Methodology and tools a plus.
The salary range for this position is $20 to $25 per hour. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
