Carmel Partners, one of the nation’s leading specialists in real estate investment management, with expertise in the investment, development, and construction of multi-family real estate, is seeking a Capital Finance Intern in our San Francisco headquarters for the spring and summer semesters of 2025.
The Capital Finance Intern will support a team of five in debt underwriting, financing, and loan management for a diverse portfolio of prospective investments and existing multifamily and mixed-use assets. This position involves conducting research and tackling special projects, providing invaluable experience in the real estate investment management industry.

What you’ll do
- Support the capital finance team in securing debt for new investments and refinancing existing assets.
- Engage in all aspects of placing and closing debt capital market transactions, including preparing finance offering memoranda, reviewing legal documents, managing due diligence, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage the lender reporting process to ensure timely and accurate information flow
- Monitor the third-party debt management platform/s to maintain up-to-date records
- Conduct research and review financial and market information to support investment decisions
- Take on additional duties, responsibilities and special projects as assigned
What you’ll bring
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree with demonstrated academic excellence
- Proficiency in Excel, financial modeling is a plus
- Demonstrated understanding of financial statements
- A genuine interest in the real estate industry, with past internship experience being a plus

The compensation for this position is $30 per hour.
