Under close supervision, performs entry level office duties in many facets of mortgage operations . Gains experience in a corporate or branch setting, and develops skills that are transferable to other opportunities.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Performs basic clerical duties such as filing, answering phones or preparing basic documents.
- Responsible for complying with the various rules, regulations, policies and ethical standards governing the financial services industry including compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
May perform specific duties as support to a specific department.
Processing Department: Sets up files for submittal to Loan Processor. Learns the components of loan processing.
Closing Department: Reviews new files for required documentation and follows up to retrieve missing items. Assists the closer by making follow up phone calls/emails and inputs loan information in the system. Learns the components of loan closings.
Underwriting Department: Provides administrative support and other related services as needed.
IT/BI Departments: Assists with IT/BI administrative and customer service requests for the mortgagee company.
Marketing Department: Assists with social media, data metrics or monthly reporting, event planning, promotion management, and market research.
Post Closing Department: Assists with a file review and files documentation for post closing on settlements.
HR Department: Learns the recruitment and onboarding process, how to complete various background checks, and benefits processing. Assists with organizing and filing internal documents, verifying documentation, and preparing documents for new hires.
Secondary Marketing Department: Assists with locking and revising loans. Assists with reports.
Quality Control Department: Assists QC Compliance Staff members in completing various tasks.
Quality Review Department: Assists with loan reviews to ensure that specific underwriting, processing and closing standards are met.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
- A high school education or equivalent required.
- Currently enrolled in a college/university degree program, preferably with a concentration in business administration, accounting, finance, marketing, economics, or information technology.
- Basic computer skills.
- Customer service experience preferred.
