Financial Reporting and Analysis requires skills related to the understanding and application of technical accounting standards and financial reporting including SEC reporting requirements and US GAAP requirements. Required skills include working technical knowledge and demonstrated experience in the areas of financial accounting and regulatory reporting and analysis.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related discipline
- CPA
- 8+ years accounting experience
- 8+ years of GAAP accounting and GAAP financial reporting concepts including SEC rules and regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven analytical skills
- Insurance industry and accounting experience
- Established written/verbal communications and listening skills
- Demonstrates ability to work independently and meet project deadlines and work within a fast-paced, project-driven and team environment
- Knowledge of MS products (Excel, Word)
- Established understanding of consolidation principles
- Knowledge of SAP reporting tool
- Ability to handle different tasks simultaneously

The Chief Accounting Office is seeking an energetic and results-oriented GAAP Reporting & Analysis Director to join our team in either our Charlotte, NC or Syracuse, NY offices! This position is responsible for insurance industry financial statement preparation and analysis.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supervises the production of Form 10-K, Form 10-Q, and stand alone US GAAP audited Financial Statements
- Supervises the gathering, analyzing and prioritizing of financial deliverables to facilitate review and analysis for the department and Senior management
- Works with external Auditors and Regulators in responding to their requests
- Assists in researching new and/or existing SEC reporting/GAAP requirements
- Prepares documentation of Department reporting tasks
- Assists and monitors consolidation process
- Supports special project requests
The base salary range for this position is $105,000-$156,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.
