GARY SOUTHSHORE RAILCATS BASEBALL 
POSITION DESCRIPTION 
 
JOB TITLE:  Food & Beverage Intern (2025 Season) 
 
MAJOR PURPOSE 
 
The Gary Southshore RailCats are seeking a sport driven Intern for the Food and Beverage Department for our 2025 Season.  This is a fantastic opportunity to get directly involved and gain hands-on experience in various aspects of Minor League Baseball. This position specifically will be for the Food & Beverage Internship for the 2025 Season. 
 
The Food & Beverage Internship is responsible for the food and beverage for all concession’s areas and related operations. Interns will learn managerial practices in the stadium concessions & hospitality industry. 
 
*This Internship will begin May 1st and will last through the end of September.   
*Submissions should include Resume & Cover Letter. 
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 
  • Support in prepping concession stands and portable locations on the concourse for daily operations.
  • Assist in developing concession menus and pricing strategies with-in acceptable profit margins. 
  • Aid with inventory control, ordering, deliveries, and stocking daily of the entire concessions’ operations.
  • Help ensure compliance with all health, sanitation, and safety standards. 
  • Contribute to coordinating, supervising, and training food staff. 
  • Coordinate with Front Office departments on planning and execution of special events.
  • Preparing inventory sheets and closing the concession operation daily. 
  • Participate in building yearly promotional schedule in the F&B Department 
  • Other Duties as apply. 
QUALIFICATIONS 
  •  Bachelor’s degree or in-progress education in related field preferred  
  • At least one (1) year of significant F&B experience, preferably in a professional sports environment 
  • Preferred candidates will be highly motivated, dedicated, collaborative, and most of all reliable  
  • Need to possess a passion about the hospitality/sports industry and focused on creating amazing guest and employee experiences.  
  • Must have superior communication, customer service and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines. 
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and assume a leadership role during events and throughout projects.
  • Ability to work long hours including nights, weekends, and holidays especially (April-September) 
  • Must be able to stand for 10 hours and lift 50 lbs.
