Seeking Financial Management Analysts to support Internal Controls review and analysis, and implementation of new procedures for Federal management processes for annual and multi-year budget planning for the Fossil Energy Office.
Responsibilities:
The Financial Management Analysts will prepare and complete FY 2019 internal control evaluations in order to meet the annual requirements of the Federal Managers’
Financial Integrity Act (FMFIA). The results of the ASFE FMFIA evaluations are reported in an Assurance Memorandum, which is due from field elements and Headquarters offices in August/September 2019. Since ASFE reports to the Under Secretary for Energy, the assurance memorandum must be submitted through their Under Secretary to the Chief Financial Officer.
Background:
The Office of Fossil Energy (FE) has the longest directly traceable history of any organization in the Department of Energy. The mission of the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Fossil Energy (ASFE) is to enhance U.S. economic and energy security by managing and performing energy-related research; the development of policy options that ensure access to adequate supplies of affordable and clean energy; partnering with industry and others to advance clean and efficient Fossil Energy technologies; maintaining strategic crude and heating oil supplies to protect the U.S. against sudden and major supply interruptions and shortages; and max imizing the value of certain Government-owned oil and gas fields.
