U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and strategic individual to join our Fraud Investigations team. This role will manage a team of fraud investigators in a fast-paced, production-based environment where quality and accuracy are crucial. The Team Lead will oversee the investigations of multiple fraud typologies, ensure the timely filing of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), and drive the team’s performance to meet or exceed high standards. In additional to investigative leadership, this role is responsible for mentoring team members and ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures and regulatory requirements
Key Responsibilities include:
Team Leadership and Management
- Manage a team of approximately 8-14 fraud investigators, providing daily oversight, direction, and support
- Set clear performance expectations, monitor team production and quality dashboards, and ensure the team is adhering to policies and procedures
- Conduct regular team meetings, monthly 1:1s, semi-annual performance discussions, and providing ongoing coaching
- Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new employees and/or contractors
- Allocate cases and resources effectively within the team to balance workload and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail
Regulatory Compliance
- Oversee the team’s preparation of SARs ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and completeness
- Provide guidance and expertise on internal procedures and processes as well as BSA requirements
- Stay current on regulatory requirements, industry changes, and evolving fraud typologies
Risk Management and Process Improvement
- Provide strategic recommendations to senior management based on investigative findings and trends identified by the team
- Serve as a subject matter expert on process, procedures, and fraud typologies.
- Exhibits strong risk management discipline
- Ensure SARs are complete and accurate and reported timely
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of SAR filing guidelines, regulatory expectations, and stay updated on changes in fraud trends
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
- Typically more than six years of applicable experience
- Advanced knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business
- Advanced understanding of the business line’s operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls
- Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies
- Strong leadership and management skills of processes, projects and people
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Effective presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations.
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there’s an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $95,285.00 – $112,100.00 – $123,310.00
