As the Director, you will lead the data function within the organization, driving strategic initiatives and optimizing business outcomes through data-driven insights. Leveraging your advanced expertise in data analysis and leadership, you will oversee cross-functional teams, develop and implement strategic plans, and drive organizational change to achieve departmental and company-wide objectives.
The impact you’ll have:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the data function, aligning with organizational goals and priorities. Make critical decisions impacting the organization, set departmental strategies, and allocate budgets effectively.
- Manage cross-functional teams of data analysts and professionals, ensuring alignment with business objectives and fostering collaboration across departments. Drive organizational initiatives and facilitate communication between teams.
- Provide vision and direction for the data function, establishing relationships with executive stakeholders and driving organizational change to enhance data capabilities and drive innovation.
- Demonstrate advanced leadership, strategic planning, and business development skills. Establish a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the data department, with a proven track record of achieving results.
- Set departmental goals and objectives, manage budgets and resources effectively, and prioritize initiatives to achieve departmental and company-wide objectives.
- Represent the organization externally, building partnerships and alliances with industry leaders, academia, and other stakeholders to advance the organization’s data capabilities and reputation.
- Oversee advanced research and analysis on customer behavior, market trends, and operational data to uncover actionable insights and opportunities. Drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Responsible for defining and implementing the data reporting function, tool selection, and data security for the company.
- Manage the development of KPIs and metrics used to measure business performance through collaboration with the department leaders.
- Perform predictive analytics and provide business insights that inform better business decisions and influence outcomes.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related roles, with a strong track record of leadership and achievement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Expert proficiency in SQL for data querying, manipulation, and optimization. Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms.
- Strong leadership abilities with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams, drive organizational change, and achieve results. Proven track record of developing and implementing strategic plans.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish relationships with executive stakeholders and represent the organization externally.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies that drive business value.
- Experience managing budgets and allocating resources effectively to support departmental and organizational objectives.
- Proven ability to drive organizational change and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the data function.
- Experience representing the organization externally and building partnerships and alliances with industry leaders and other stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of machine learning and AI concepts, including predictive analytics, data mining, and practical applications of AI to enhance business intelligence strategies.
