We are looking for an experienced Director of Enterprise Technology to lead all aspects of the technology infrastructure. The Director leads the department in alignment with the mission of Hornets Sports & Entertainment and the IT strategic plan. You will collaborate between IT staff, organization leaders, tenants and outside vendors for the planning and execution of technical initiatives.
As the team leader and staff manager you are accountable for the deliverables and detailed execution in the areas of network, infrastructure, facility services, hardware management, client software, service and support and consultation on user technology integrations. You will lead the implementation, monitoring and performance of business-critical infrastructure and systems supporting our offices, practice facility and training camp including consultation on stadium technology projects.
You are a self-starter with the ability to work both independently and across all levels of employees. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The Director of Enterprise Technology works closely with executive leadership to align IT initiatives with business goals and drive innovation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish and implement team processes and workflows.
- Conduct analysis and collaboration with collaborators to advise on selection of technology, technical approach and specifications.
- Manage the installation and maintenance of hardware and software including workstations, future VOIP phones, mobile devices, multimedia displays and video conference system support.
- Ensure the development and deployment of user-centric technology solutions that enhance customer and employee experiences.
- Maintain inventory and licensing for hardware and software.
- Maintain compliance with information security and privacy standards. Including keeping security on the forefront of every project and implementation.
- Responsible for the oversight, management and maintenance of Spectrum Center’s Network, Servers, Telecommunications, and various other Technology infrastructure by leveraging industry and security best practices and other methods to assure system integrity and continuity.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining Infrastructure standards, operating procedures and system diagrams or documentation as it pertains to Spectrum Center’s Physical, Virtual and Cloud Infrastructure environments.
- Assist and support other team members and departments in resolving operational issues affecting clients/promoter/vendor/events. Work with various 3rd parties to facilitate, manage and execute any special event Technology requirements.
- Responsible for overseeing the IT Networking and Systems team and their daily activities along with team growth and development.
- Responsible for planning and directing installation of client/promoter/vendor network, telecommunications and various other technology like Wi-Fi, IPTV, etc…needs for events and shows. Assist and support other team members as well as other departments in resolving any operational issues that affect clients/promoter/vendor/events. Work with various 3rd parties to facilitate, manage and execute any special event Technology requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain security best practices across the network, telecommunications and various other technologies infrastructure and environments that are reflective of the facilities’ focus on Cyber Security, Governance and Compliance.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to user troubleshooting issues, processes and procedures.
- Provide technical support and assistance to internal and external customers during normal and after regular hours as needed, which may include weekends and holidays.
Team Leader
- Lead staff under daring timelines and high expectations.
- Lead and mentor the IT team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Manage IT Operations staff.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to understand business requirements and integrate network solutions accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with partners, tenants and team members as well as third party vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
- Contribute to critical initiatives focused on venue technology and moving the business forward.
- Establish appropriate metrics for measuring key project criteria including team velocity, performance and reporting.
- Undertakes status review meetings among project team members and clients.
- Contribute to the strategic and budgetary planning within Information Technology.
- Facilitate the creation of communication plans and status updates, ensuring that appropriate information is exchanged among key partners.
- Identify and recommend contingency measures.

Required Skills, Experience and Abilities
To perform the job successfully, you should demonstrate the following competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science or Information Systems Management
- 5+ years of progressive experience in the Sports, Entertainment, or Hospitality industry with a special focus on handling complex issues related to a multi-location environment
- 5+ years of direct responsibility for building and managing technology operating budgets
- 5-7 years’ experience with the following: IT Service Management, Problem Management, Incident Management, Configuration Management, Change Management, project management, M&A activity, network infrastructure design, network infrastructure implementation, Microsoft Active Directory, and partnering with sourcing companies.
- 8+ years of IT Operations experience
- 3 or more years’ experience demonstrating executive presence and working closely with other senior executives to identify and prioritize how information technology will be used to support the organization’s business plan
- A solid grasp of various IT systems, networks and technologies. This includes knowledge of hardware, software, cybersecurity principles, cloud computing and emerging technologies.
- Experience in maintaining, implementing and troubleshooting HD Wi-Fi solutions.
- Knowledge and experience with VOIP systems
- Fully versed in standard Internet services such as DNS, SSL, HTTP, etc.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, OSI, SAFE network design, network lifecycle, network analysis and troubleshooting techniques
- Experience managing a diverse network of services, applications, operating systems and hardware.
- Ability to navigate and understand team databases
- Deep knowledge and awareness of the latest SDLC processes and tools.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
- Presents self in professional manner and have ability to interact with all levels of organization and outside contacts
- Strong leadership qualities to motivate and inspire others. This includes ability to delegate tasks, provide guidance, resolve conflicts and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Demonstrated experience in team management, including hiring, training and performance evaluation.
- Superb communication skills including written and verbal; ability to present ideas clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members, stakeholders, and senior management.
- Experience with broadcast technologies (i.e. broadcast media, scoring and video boards, press/media distribution, in-house television systems, broadcast and audio cabling systems) would be an asset
- Ability to inspire and motivate team members, foster collaboration and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Ability to craft research, data and collected intel into strategy
- Proven track record of leading complex large-scale projects from initiation to completion, including preparing strategic plans to present ideas to stakeholders
- Ability to analyze, design and implement solutions applying current and context appropriate technologies
- Experience contracting, negotiating with vendors on IT procurement
- Ability to work extended hours including Spectrum Arena events, all Hornets home games, nights, weekends and holidays
