Job Summary:  
This full-time, 9-month internship offers an in-depth experience in nonprofit development, providing an opportunity to make a real impact on our organization’s mission. With a membership of over 6,000 junior golfers, you’ll work alongside our development team to support fundraising initiatives that drive our programs forward.  
  
In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in key areas, including special events, donor communications, and donor stewardship. Daily responsibilities will involve assisting staff with donor database management, financial reporting, and tracking stewardship efforts. You will also have the chance to support program staff in the field on player development, fundraising outreach, and creating opportunities for youth engagement. 
  
This is a unique opportunity for someone looking to deepen their understanding of nonprofit development while contributing to an impactful cause. 
 
The work schedule will be Monday through Thursday, every other Friday (track off 
scheduling), with occasional evenings and weekends required. The rate for this position is $22.00/hour. 
 
Responsibilities
Development and Event Planning Activities: 
 
  • Supports all fundraising initiatives including mailed donor appeals, research and retention efforts of annual fund and major gifts, and SCGA member cultivation.  
  • Supports all aspects of Sweepstakes programs, digital auctions, and raffle ticket sales.  
  • Participates on development related committees. 
  • Supports the coordination of all annual fundraising and scholarship events including creating registration/campaign pages, overseeing in-kind donations, player management, auction software, communications planning, and day of event support. 
  • Represents SCGA Junior Golf Foundation at donor outings and events; can speak with donors and prospects about Foundation activities, initiatives, and programs. 
 
Administrative and Programming Activities: 
  • Donor database management including monthly Ambassador Club fulfillment, contact updates, and financial reporting in Salesforce. 
  • Oversees new donations including donor acknowledgement and data uploads to 
    Salesforce. 
  • Provides customer service across the entire organization including answering calls and 
    emails and assisting in resolving customer issues with all programming and development 
    areas at the basic level. 
  • Supports and assists staff in other activities such as golf outings, community outreach 
    and other new program initiatives, especially related to the expansion of our Scholarship program and alumni network.  
 
Communications & Marketing Activities: 
  • Supports development and management of content for all SCGA Junior Golf Foundation 
    electronic communications, including numerous newsletters and digital blasts. 
  • Supports collateral creation and fulfillment for special events related to fundraising.  
  • Plus, other duties as assigned. 
 
Essential Qualifications:  
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a combination of relevant education and work experience  
  • Adheres to deadlines, prioritizes work activities, and ensures successful execution of multiple projects.  
  • Analyzes and processes diverse information with accuracy and thoroughness. Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues promptly.  
  • Communicates clearly and persuasively, both orally and in writing.  
  • Demonstrates excellent group presentation skills and professional yet approachable demeanor.  
  • Integrates diverse viewpoints and works effectively with staff, volunteers, and industry stakeholders. Listens to others and resolves conflicts constructively.  
  • Continuously seek ways to improve and promote quality.  
  • Demonstrates initiative, works well independently, and is detail oriented.  
  • Meets productivity and quality standards set by the SCGA Junior Golf Foundation.  
  • Knowledge of CRM platforms preferred.  
  • Flexible schedule: must be available to work evenings and weekends as required. 
  • Access to reliable transportation and able to travel with timely arrival to assigned working locations as required.
