Brooks Internship Program:
Brooks Running hosts summer internships at our Seattle HQ offices to provide hands-on, meaningful work experience to further enhance your education and professional aptitude. Our interns gain exposure to real work, and projects while working side by side with Brooks employees and leadership. If chosen for this role, you will join a cohort of interns at Brooks and embark on a summer of learning, professional development, and exposure to the Brooks brand and culture.  
Details:
Duration: 3 months 
Dates: Start dates will align for both quarter and semester students. May/June – August/September 2025
Location: Seattle, HQ 
Schedule: 40 hours / week
This Opportunity:
Our Creative Team seeks a copywriting intern to work at our Seattle HQ offices. This position will work within the Brand Creative Copywriting team, which is responsible for developing, fostering, and sharing  the voice of Brooks Running. The team also works closely with the broader Creative Lab to develop work ranging from digital copy (BrooksRunning.com, social media, email, etc.) to seasonal catalogs, editorial content, global product campaigns, and more. 

Your Impact (Responsibilities):

    • Help deliver branded communications including, emails, event collateral, landing pages, catalog editorial, and more 
    • Gain exposure to product marketing managers and product line managers, learning to translate complex technological features into consumer-facing benefits—always championing the customer experience 
    • Learn and grow your ability to consistently write in the Brooks brand voice 
    • Create forward-thinking writing across interactive and traditional media, while maintaining brand standards and delivering creative briefs 
    • Meet with members of the broader Creative Lab to understand their roles, areas of responsibility, and current project focuses 
    • Receive mentorship from Brand Creative copywriters to understand their roles and impact to the broader department and/or business 
    • Gain industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments 
    • Gain hands-on experience in copywriting for creative projects with an outcome of 10-20 completed projects of varying scope 
    • Develop conceptual storytelling skills needed for a career in creative writing 
    • Flex your advertising and creative industry understanding while also improving and driving quality to solve a problem or improve an existing process. In this role for example, the intern will partner with marketing and design to write campaign copy for our loyalty program, Brooks Run Club. The goal is engaging current Brooks Run Club members and create an opportunity to grow our membership.  
    • Experience on-the-job training through real work projects/situations, showcasing how your academic experience translates to the professional environment 
    • Learn directly from experienced co-workers, managers and leaders with specialized experience and technical knowledge across many professional fields 
    • Build connections with a network of professionals, managers, and leaders 
    • Participate in weekly team meetings and other group and project meetings 
    • Interact with various business partners that span across Brooks and present the results of your project at the end of your internship 
    • Have fun, run, cultivate optimism 

Project:

    • As a part of your experience as an intern at Brooks, you will have the opportunity to complete a project under the support and supervision of your manager. Details of your project will be finalized once you arrive at Brooks based on your interests, and the needs of the business. You will present your work and findings to leadership at Brooks at the end of your internship, to hone in on your research, recommendation, and presentation skills.  

Skills & Qualifications:

    • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Creative Writing, Advertising or a related field 
    • Willing to commit to the intern position for three months onsite in Seattle, WA 
    • Willingness to learn and gain hands-on experience 
    • Able to commit to up to 40 hours a week to be physically present at HQ 
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating effective listening through concise, clear verbal and written communication 
    • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint 
    • Strong organizational skills 
    • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products 
    • Must be able to collaborate in a team-oriented environment
