Tenstorrent University Jobs
Tenstorrent is leading the industry on cutting-edge AI technology, revolutionizing performance expectations, ease of use, and cost efficiency. With AI redefining the computing paradigm, solutions must evolve to unify innovations in software models, compilers, platforms, networking, and semiconductors. Our diverse team of technologists have developed a high performance RISC-V CPU from scratch, and share a passion for AI and a deep desire to build the best AI platform possible. We value collaboration, curiosity, and a commitment to solving hard problems. We are growing our team and looking for contributors of all seniorities.
As a CPU Architect Intern, you will work alongside experienced architects and engineers in a team responsible for designing, developing, and testing microprocessors and other integrated circuits. You will be involved in developing/enhancing our internal CPU and system simulation infrastructure – the critical tools we use to architect our CPUs, Systems-on-Chip, and AI accelerators. Your work will directly influence the team’s ability to architect the next generation of CPUs, accelerators, and systems being developed at Tenstorrent.
This role is on-site, 40 hours, based out of Santa Clara, CA or Austin, TX.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of our internal CPU, Accelerator, and System-level simulation frameworks to evaluate new architecture ideas.
- Collaborate with software and systems teams to bring-up and validate critical workloads.
- Collaborate with fellow architects to ensure seamless integration of this framework into our internal workflows.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for the simulation framework, to facilitate use by both internal and customer teams.
- Analyse the performance of CPU designs for key workloads using this framework. Participate in the research and improvement of CPU architectures.
- Present results and findings to the team and management.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a M.S or Ph.D. degree in Computer Architecture (late stage Bachelor’s students with experience matching the list below are also welcome to apply).
- Experience with CPU performance modelling, implementation or simulation/emulation (e.g. frameworks like GEM5, or direct experience with writing CPUs in any hardware description languages).
- Proficiency in programming languages like C++.
- Some experience with scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
- Strong understanding of computer organization and architecture and digital logic design.
- Some experience writing or working with functional (instruction-set) simulators.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Compensation for all interns at Tenstorrent ranges from $50/hr – $70/hr including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
