A BNSF paid Summer Intern for the Corporate Communications team offers students the chance to experience life as a full-time employee, working on impactful, real-life assignments and projects that apply their skills and education. The Corporate Communications team at BNSF Railway is responsible for managing internal and external communications, ensuring clear and consistent messaging across the organization. This team also manages public relations, media relations, crisis communications, and employee engagement to support BNSF’s business objectives.

This is a full-time position located in Fort Worth, TX. For certain positions, including this one, employees can work one day per week remotely. Our leaders also foster a culture where work life balance, which requires flexibility for when life happens, is important and respected.
Travel may be required. Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
Relocation is required if located more than 50 miles from the location.
Key responsibilities may include:
Writing company news and feature articles for internal websites and other communication channels.
Supporting content development for employee mobile apps and social media outlets.
Assistance with monitoring website statistics and social media usage using analytical tools.
Assisting in graphic design for digital and print publications.
Supporting special events, recognition programs, and conducting research and fact-checking for company communications.
Possess leadership, teamwork, clear communication, adaptability, and resilience to overcome obstacles and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
Daily work is conducted in an indoor office environment.

Basic Qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States and will be at least eighteen (18) years old upon hire.
- Does not require sponsorship to obtain, maintain, or extend authorization to work in the United States. (For example, H1-B Visa or STEM OPT)
- Pursuing a Bachelors or Graduate degree in Communications, Journalism OR a similar degree program from an accredited university.
- Have and will maintain at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA.
- Have LESS THAN three (3) years of professional work experience, EXCLUDING internships, part-time jobs, or positions held while pursuing my undergraduate and/or graduate degree.
- Have access to reliable transportation for the duration of the internship to and from my assigned BNSF location.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior intern experience or less than 3 years of work experience in Communications or Journalism.
- Have or have held a leadership position in a campus, community, or extracurricular organization.
- Pursuing a degree in Communications or Journalism.
