We are seeking someone who wants to excel in services to our clients by learning and taking on responsibilities. You will work directly with our clients, partners, managers, and staff who also want to work with you.
What the Internship will offer:
- A rewarding in-person experience with an open door to senior level accountants and partners
- Participation in a comprehensive training to build confidence and knowledge at the beginning of the internship focused on technical components and practice sessions
- Research and understand tax concepts, code sections and regulations to then apply them to the clients’ needs
- Opportunity to prepare payroll tax returns, forms 1099, W-2’s and individual tax return form 1040
- Exposure to preparing financial statements and tax returns for numerous individual and small business clients
- A dynamic work experience providing the opportunity to learn how to manage multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously
Skills and Competencies we are seeking:
- Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week from January – April (on-site required, flexible to create a consistent internship schedule around class schedule)
- Display a continuous desire and willingness to develop and improve professional and technical knowledge and proficiencies
- Demonstrate excellent analytical, communication, and organization skills to be a team player and provide strong customer service to clients
- Ability to prioritize tasks and deadlines for multiple clients
- Excellent initiative to research and understand tax concepts and regulations
- Proficiency or ability to learn technology used in tax preparation, such as Thompson Reuters CS, CSA, UltraTax, Fixed Assets CS and QuickBooks, as well as Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
Education Requirements
- Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Cumulative GPA 3.2 or higher
Previous accounting employment or internship in public accounting preferred, but not required
