Business Valuation Intern
CTBK is a locally-owned and operated full-service accounting firm based in Amherst, NY. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to intern with our business valuation and consulting team. This individual will directly support our team in developing financial models, performing economic and industry research, and creating presentations and reports that are submitted to our clients. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and critical thinker, willing to participate in all phases of valuation engagements. The business valuation intern will work closely with our team members to produce high-quality and unique deliverables to our growing client base. This is a hands-on internship with substantial on-the-job training and direct exposure to firm leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform valuation analysis on a wide range of closely held business enterprises within various industries using accepted and relevant valuation approaches and theory
- Analyze competitive industry dynamics and financial condition of subject companies
- Evaluate business plans, adjust financial statements and build financial models, including discounted cash flow analyses, capital asset pricing models and asset valuation approaches
- Prepare proposals, presentations, memos and/or narrative valuation reports detailing methodologies, inputs, and assumptions
- Analyze and synthesize large quantities of data using various data analysis tools
To be considered for this internship you must be available to work 16-24 hours per week onsite at our office located in Amherst, NY, as well as have the following:
Required Skills:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- Must have a graduation date of 2026 or sooner
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3
- Strong analytical, comprehension, and problem-solving skills; resourceful in delivering high-quality work
- Strong financial statement analysis and research skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication, time management and leadership skills
- Flexible and adaptable team player
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Accountability and ability to multi-task
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, peers, and other contacts
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Pay:
- $20.00- $22.00 per hour
