We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate ECE Director of Center Operations to join our leadership team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our early childhood education center. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of early childhood education, and a commitment to creating a positive learning environment for children, staff, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Management and Leadership:
- Oversee the daily operations of all AC4Ed centers.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective program operations.
- Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, NC Division of Child Development and Early Education (NCDCDEE), and other state and local regulations.
- Collaborate with the ECE Director to set strategic goals and objectives for the program.
- Staff Supervision and Development:
- Primarily supervise Center Directors, with secondary supervision of teachers, and other support staff.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Identify professional development needs and coordinate training programs.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Curriculum and Instruction:
- Ensure the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the needs of all children.
- Monitor classroom activities and provide guidance to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
- Family and Community Engagement:
- Promote active family involvement within the ECE program.
- Coordinate with Associate ECE Director of Family Engagement and Comprehensive Services to plan and execute family engagement activities, workshops, and events.
- Uphold AC4Ed’s positive reputation with partnership organizations to enhance program services and resources.
- Health and Safety:
- Ensure that all health and safety policies and procedures are followed per Mecklenburg County’s Environmental Health (Sanitation) and Fire, and Office of Head Start (OHS) rules and regulations.
- Ensure that all safety incidents, including injuries and lack of supervision, are reported within the guidelines of NCDCDEE and OHS).
- Program Evaluation and Improvement:
- Collaborate with ECE Director and content area managers in analyzing program data to monitor and evaluate the ECE program for effectiveness and compliance.
- Implement continuous improvement strategies based on data and feedback from staff, families, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in program and community needs assessments.
- Budget and Financial Management:
- Assist in developing and managing the ECE program budget.
- Ensure effective allocation and use of resources to meet program goals.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure all program activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
- Prepare and submit required reports to ECE Director, Pre-K partners, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders as necessary.
- Participate in formal and informal audits and monitoring reviews to ensure program compliance.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Maintain open and effective communication with staff, families, and community partners.
- Collaborate with the ECE Director and other leadership team members on program initiatives.
- Positively represent the AC4Ed in community meetings and events.
Eligible for $500.00 Hiring Bonus following successful completion of 90 days of employment with documented performance evaluation.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Educational Leadership, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience in early childhood education, including supervisory or administrative roles.
- Experience in a Head Start or similar early childhood program desired.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for working with children, families, and staff.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management systems.
- Thorough understanding of Head Start Performance Standards and early childhood education principles desired.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to NC Child Care and Head Start programs.
