1. Manages and leads research on various federal rules and regulations as well as University policies and procedures to resolve problems and determine the best course of action for the functional area. 2. Counsel’s faculty, students and staff on issues related to administrative operations of the University function and areas of concern for the function. 4. Manages statistical and analytical information regarding office activities and areas of operational and administrative concern for the function. 5. Leads in long-range planning for the office activities of a specific functional area. 6. Interprets and administers various University and federal policies and regulations. 7. Disseminates accurate and up-to-date information regarding areas of concern. 8. Formulates and establishes policies regarding area’s function. 9. Manages a staff of exempt and non-exempt employees. 10. May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and three years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Position Focus:
Co-lead the YSE Alumni Services efforts, with a particular focus on building a robust network of alumni of the new Three Cairns Climate Program for the Global South, incorporating both Three Cairns Scholars (alumni of the master’s program) and Three Cairns Fellows (certificate program participants); lead development and implementation of program strategy, events, communications, and interactions across multiple platforms for Scholars and Fellows, integrating them within the larger YSE alumni network.
Serve as alumni officer for YSE, managing all aspects of the Three Cairns alumni program, and serving as the primary liaison among Three Cairns Scholars alumni, Three Cairns Fellows, and the School.
Serve as alumni office liaison to other departments at YSE that bear responsibility for implementation of the Three Cairns Scholars Program, including Academic Affairs, Career and Professional Development, Student Affairs, and Admissions. Serve as alumni office liaison to the areas of YSE administering the online certificate programs for the Three Cairns Fellows. With the supervision of the Associate Dean of Development and Alumni Services, provide periodic stewardship reporting to the founders of the program including bi-monthly or quarterly virtual meetings, in-person visits on-campus or off-campus, and the annual report. Co-manage YSE alumni events, programs, and visits domestically, internationally, and remotely, along with the other Assistant Director. Co-manage communications for YSE Alumni, including alumni newsletters, regular email blasts, website content, and social media content, along with the other Assistant Director. Lead the School’s deployment of its online networking platform as it relates to Three Cairns Scholars, Fellows, and international alumni. Oversee student research assistants and alumni program volunteers as needed to carry out the responsibilities of the position. Provide frontline staffing for high-profile events including Reunion, Leadership Council, alumni and donor receptions, etc. Complete other duties as assigned.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree with three years’ professional experience or an equivalent combination of education/experience in fundraising, alumni services, career services, communications and/or marketing. Also, preferred interest in the environment, international experience, experience in a university setting or with development and alumni work, and a familiarity with Yale.

Required Skill/Ability 1:
