Job Description

Summary: Queens University of Charlotte is seeking a dedicated and creative admissions professional to join our enrollment team. This position will play a critical role in recruiting and guiding prospective students interested in both our undergraduate and graduate nursing and health programs (Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing, and Master of Health Administration). This position requires strong communication skills, an understanding of healthcare education, and a commitment to supporting students throughout the admissions process. This is a full-time benefits eligible position.

 

This position is a dual report to the Director of Graduate Admissions and the Director of Undergraduate Admissions. This position is exempt from provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is not eligible to earn overtime pay or compensatory time off for additional hours worked over 40 in a week. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students interested in nursing and health programs at Queens University of Charlotte with special attention given to the following programs: direct admit nursing program, accelerated Bachelor of Science in nursing program, Master of Science in nursing program, and Master of Health Administration.
  • Provide personalized guidance and support to prospective students regarding admissions requirements, program offerings, and financial aid opportunities.
  • Conduct individual and group informational sessions, both in-person and virtually, to educate prospective students about the Presbyterian School of Nursing and the Blair College of Health.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and alumni to promote Queen’s distinctive features to prospective students and their families.
  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates to undergraduate and graduate health programs, including attending recruitment events, open houses, and college fairs.
  • Utilize CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tools and databases to track prospective student inquiries, applications, and admissions statuses.
  • Evaluate and assess applications for admission to programs in accordance with established criteria and standards.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of admissions events, including orientations, information sessions, and campus tours.
  • Stay informed about current trends in nursing education, healthcare, and workforce development to inform recruitment strategies and program enhancements.

Non-Essential Duties:

  • Other duties and special projects may be assigned to meet department and University needs.

Qualifications

Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Previous experience in admissions, recruitment, or advising, preferably within higher education or healthcare settings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly establish rapport with a wide spectrum of people, both external and internal to the university
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; proven ability to plan and deliver effective presentations to small and large groups.
  • Strong working knowledge of Technolutions Slate is desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and/or weekends to meet demands of the position.
  • Valid, unrestricted U.S. driver’s license, or ability to attain same by hire date.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience recruiting for graduate and undergraduate business programs.
  • Familiarity with the Charlotte metropolitan area and business community.
  • Understanding of current trends in business education and workforce development.
