Accounting Manager

As a Property Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial reporting and accounting related to our property portfolio. This role involves managing outsourced property accountants, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements, and managing corporate credit card program. You will collaborate closely with property managers, asset managers, and senior management to support strategic decision-making and optimize financial performance.
Primary Duties:
- Fully responsible for managing the outsourced month-end accounting process.
- Review and analyze property-level financial statements. Analyze trends, balance sheets and Profit & Loss Statements. Provides findings and recommendations to management.
- Complete accounting accruals for each property within the portfolio.
- Fully manage company-wide expense reporting. This will include the credit card program, journal entries and adherence to reimbursement policies.
- Collaborate with on-site Property Manager to ensure the books are properly closed monthly to ensure successful close processes.
- Partner with Learning and Development to provide reoccurring, financial training to on-site Property Managers.
- May assist other Accounting team members with completing special projects, as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years relevant accounting experience, public accounting experience a plus
- CPA preferred
- Real estate or multi-family experience preferred
- Working knowledge of GAAP
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Real Page/OneSite preferred
- Excellent communication, organization and critical thinking skills and attention to detail; Team oriented.
