Position Summary & Responsibilities:
This internship is intended to run from January/February – May 2025. The selected interns will be expected to work 20+ hours per work, around their class schedule, between 9:00am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday. This role will work 50% onsite out of our Salt Lake City office and relocation assistance is not available.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern (AI) to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and general accounting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and a passion for learning. The AI will report to the Associate Director, Internal Control (ADIC).
- Assist with daily accounting tasks, such as data entry, account/vendor reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end closes processes, as needed.
- Assist with data preparation for external and internal audits.
- Learn and apply accounting principles and standards.
- Support other Accounting/Finance team members as needed.
- Other projects as assigned by the ADIC or SDA.
Education, Skills, & Experience:
- Must be actively enrolled in an academic program/institution pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher majoring in Accounting, Finance, or Business. Accounting or Finance majors preferred.
- 1 year of experience in Excel, with VLOOKUP, PivotTables, and Finance Functions/Formulas highly desired
- Basic understanding of accounting concepts including Journal Entries, Debits/Credits, and t Tables
