2025 Summer Baseball Operations Internship

Company Summary- Koa is a 501c3 non-profit organization based in Rockville, Maryland.  We are a dynamic, fun, growing company, with a bleeding passion for sports!  Our mission is “shaping kids’ lives through sports” every decision we make comes back to our mission.  We have roughly a dozen full-time employees and a part-time staff of over 200 and are looking for more all-stars.  We are looking for candidates that are leaders and have a high appetite for learning with a desire to excel in our entrepreneurial environment. This internship is located at 9200 Corporate Blvd Rockville, MD 20850 (Suite 320) & Winston Churchill High School (1300 Gainsborough Rd, Potomac, MD 20854).

 

Job Description- This Baseball Intern Position will begin in late May and run through late July.  This position will be summer baseball camp focused.  This position will help get baseball camp launched, from daily schedules, to staffing, to communication, and helping with the day-to-day management.  This is an unpaid position but does offer college credit.

●      Understand and execute Koa’s Baseball check in process and daily camp schedule

●      Professionally interact with Koa employees managing day-day tasks

●      Potentially interact with Koa families via email (after draft has been approved)

●      Understand how to use Instagram

●      Professionally interact with Koa parents at any Koa event 

●      Master Koa’s League’s rules (NVTBL)

●      Show up on time and in Koa gear to all events 

●      Use appropriate language

●      Proficient communication; both verbal and electronic

●      Understand how to use the G-suite

●      Adequate knowledge of the sport

●      Proficient in excel

●      Can use a fungo bat

*Note, there will be paid coaching opportunities at $15.50 p/hour on nights and weekends. 

All interviews will begin in January 2025
