2025 Season Internship

The Gastonia Ghost Peppers are pushing towards our 2025 Baseball season, seeking highly motivated, outgoing, and dedicated candidates for our internship program. Candidates should expect to build upon their work experience in the fast-paced, results-driven world of professional baseball, events & venue management. 

 Position Overview:

The internship program offers hands-on experience in sales, marketing, events, production and venue management.  Interns will learn various skills while working closely with managers & directors, assisting in the office, at venue and community events, and supporting game operations on Ghost Peppers game days.

Listed below are brief descriptions for each department. Please note that certain departments may ask for additional requirements.

 Ticket Sales

·         Sales tasks include assisting in executing various grassroots marketing activities with the ticket sales department to drive ticket sales and brand awareness.

·         Assist on Game Days with sales, marketing & service initiatives.

·         Ability to join for professional sales trainings with the sales group.

·         Corporate partnerships tasks will help understand how to prospect, pitch, and maintain sponsors and partner relationships, while gaining hands-on experience in professional sports marketing and business development.

·         The community relations tasks will help gain experience by working on a variety of community outreach programs and events. Some community relations responsibilities include organizing and taking part in community events, managing team donations and coordinating youth sports activities.

·         Merchandise tasks include organizing, stocking and inventorying of team store before home games, as well as conducting transactions in the team store, and assisting with online store order fulfillment. 

·         Production and entertainment tasks include all operations withing the presentation of Ghost Peppers games. Game production roles (camera operator, DJ, Scoreboard operator) assist in the live production of games for stream on FloSports, and to our in-stadium video board. Entertainment roles include social media, on-field game coordination, and helping ensure a high level of presentation and experience for our fans. 

 

·         Availability at approximately 75% (50 home games) of the Ghost Peppers 2025 home season

·         Availability for in-stadium or off-site community events as requested. 

·         Attend office hours during the week to gain experience in ticket sales, corporate fulfillment, business administration, operations, marketing, and more.
 

·         Working towards a four-year college degree or graduate degree or recent graduate in Marketing, Business Administration, Sports Management, or other relevant courses

·         Housing and transportation in Gastonia or surrounding areas

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

·         Strong organizational and oral/written communication skills

·         Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of projects

·         Strong professional attitude

·         Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25lbs 

 

This is a non-paid internship. If a prospective intern is able to collect school credit hours, this will apply.
